Fry appoined chief executive of Scotsman publishers

THE publishers of The Scotsman newspaper has unveiled the identity of its new chief executive, to take over from current incumbent, Tim Bowdler, who leaves next year.

As widely-predicted throughout the media these last couple of days, John Fry is to become the new chief executive of Johnston Press – which announced the news this morning to the City.

Fry is currently chief executive of the Norwich-based regional media group, Archant – a position he has held for six years.

Bowdler was appointed chief executive of Johnston Press in 1997, having joined the company in 1994 when he became group managing director.
