AN advertising campaign featuring the comedienne, Elaine C Smith, to raise awareness about breast cancer, has won its creators a major award.
The campaign sees Smith speaking directly to camera while displaying large cards showing breasts in all shapes and sizes, which might be vulnerable to cancer.
And it has won Edinburgh-based The Leith Agency the Chairman’s Award at the UK-wide Roses Creative Awards – which celebrates creativity outside London. The campaign was done on behalf of the Scottish Government and it also took the TV/Cinema Commercial Over 21 Seconds prize.
Leith also won gold in the TV/Cinema Campaign category, on behalf of IRN-BRU, for its ‘Steamy Windows / Fanny’ ads.
Also among the Scots winners was Glasgow-based Equator, which took the website prize, and which also took silver in the same category.
And also taking gold medals were Scots outfits Newhaven Communications (Food and Drink Advert), Tayburn (Corporate/Promotional Literature), Stand (Packaging) and The Edinburgh Playhouse (Unusual Size or Special Build).
