BBC staff braced for job cuts

WHETHER it is today or ends up being tomorrow, the scale of proposed job cuts at the BBC is to be known soon, as director-general, Mark Thompson, submits his latest cost-cutting plans.

And according to an insider at BBC Scotland, the anxiety is palpable.

Our insider writes: “The first fear is that a disproportionate number of jobs will go in news. which managed to survive somewhat better during the last round [of job cuts].”
