Scots trio invited to master series production

THREE producers at BBC Scotland have been offered the chance to develop their skills with a view to becoming series producers.

Allan Campbell, Gerard Strother and Sandy Raffan are among 12 people chosen to take part in the Series Producer Programme, run by BBC Training and the charity, TRC Media, previously known as The Research Centre.

Now in its seventh year, the programme aims to develop the skills of network producers from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English regions to the level of series producer.

Campbell is a senior producer in Factual/Factual Entertainment, Strother is a senior producer in Learning at BBC Scotland and producer/director Raffan is involved in Factual programming.

The year-long training scheme consists of 12 sessions lasting two days per month.

The programme delivers a range of high-level masterclasses on the likes of creative thinking, multi-platform, audience research and behaviours, pitching, writing programme proposals, accessing decision makers, managing talent and team building, plus diversity, compliance, legal, ethical and editorial practice.
