TV festival pass competition prize for students

STUDENTS with an interest in the media are being called on to compete for a delegate’s pass at this year’s MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.

With the winner also invited to file stories for allmediascotland.com during the course of the festival, the pass provides an opportunity to listen to and meet some of the key figures in television, including attending the keynote speech, the MacTaggart Lecture, which is this year being delivered by James Murdoch, chair and former chief executive of BSkyB.

Already, students studying media courses at Napier, Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde universities – plus at Cardonald College – have been alerted to the competition.

To enter requires submitting an essay of no more than 500 words, on the subject: TV in 2010.

A shortlist of around ten will be put up for AMS readers to decide the winner, via an online poll.

The deadline is the first of next month.
