Short film helps cement BBC Scotland reputation for science programming

THE topical magazine programme on the BBC, The One Show, is this evening broadcasting a short science film made by BBC Scotland – the first of 19 that have commissioned for between now and next year and 40 that will be made between next year and 2010.

Meanwhile, in the wake of its ‘Jimmy Doherty in Darwin’s Garden’, part of the BBC’s recent Darwin season, BBC Scotland is also developing new projects for network BBC One with Doherty.

Says BBC Scotland: “These projects will focus on Jimmy’s acknowledged interest in food production with a one-off documentary, Field to Plate, looking at the import industry and how food from all over the world arrives in our stores.”
