Ford and Riley en route to Dear Green Place

THE comedy partnership behind the BBC Scotland series, Still Game, is being broken up – temporarily, of course, as the pair briefly work on individual projects – following the announcement of a new pilot comedy to be broadcast on BBC One Scotland.

Ford Kiernan is this time teaming up with Paul Riley, in Dear Green Place – set in a Glasgow park. But it’s not that Kiernan’s usual partner, Greg Hemphill, is being replaced by a stranger; Riley is also a well-kent face on Still Game.

And Dear Green Place is not the only comedy pilot in the BBC Scotland pipeline. While Dear Green Place is transmitted on the first of next month, in quick succession comes fellow pilots, In Voluntary, starring Karen Dunbar and Julie Wilson Nimmo, and Legit, starring Steven McNicol, Jordan Young and Andy Gray.

Joining Kiernan and Riley in Dear Green Place are Paul Blair, Martin Docherty, Johnny Austin and River City stars, Jenny Ryan and Carmen Pieraccini.

It was written by Riley and Rab Christie, and directed by Don Coutts. It has been produced by F‘n’G and the executive producer for BBC Scotland is Ewan Angus.
