Social Media the subject of Scottish conference

MARKETING and PR professionals, among others, are being invited to learn how best to capitalise on Scotland’s social media landscape, courtesy of a packed one-day conference.

Hosted by the Social Media Academy, a training and consultancy firm, and featuring speakers from the likes of The BIG Partnership, the Social Media in Scotland Conference aims to offer insights, among other things, into the opportunities that blogs, social networking and Twitter can offer.

Also involved in the event, which is due to be held at the Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor Hotel on Wednesday, is Vicki Steel, director of Edinburgh-based communications agency, Stripe Communications, and Colin Gilchrist of creative and online marketing agency, Digital Face.

Conference coordinator, Francesco Anstey, told allmediascotland: “The Social Media in Scotland Conference seeks to empower Scottish business with the knowledge and information to exploit Social Media for business growth.

“Exposing the latest game-changing thinking, the day looks specifically at Social Media in Scotland and the cutting edge campaigns and techniques that are working today, and that can work for Scottish businesses large and small.”

Tickets are currently on sale, priced at £345 plus VAT or three for the price of two. Alternatively, Anstey will take bookings personally at Francesco.Anstey@socialmedialibrary.co.uk, with a 25 per cent discount offered.
