Free training on website building being offered by the NUJ

FREE training on how to build a website using the tool, Dreamweaver, is being offered in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen from later this month.

Funding secured by the National Union of Journalists – as part of a wider New Media Channels initiative – means it is able to offer three, two-day courses on the likes of HTML coding and RSS feeds.

Says the NUJ: “It’s a two-day course providing a step-by-step guide to creating a website using Dreamweaver, the industry leading web development tool. A highly practical class, freelance members will be able to produce their own manageable website, with the course including site planning, web page basics (text, colour, layout, graphics), HTML code snippets, cascading style sheets, web site accessibility, RSS feeds, and blogs.”

The funding has been secured from the STUC Learning Fund in partnership with the European Social Fund.

There are 12 free places available in each location.

The course locations and dates are as follows:

Edinburgh – July 21 and 22

Glasgow – July 26 and 27

Aberdeen – August 23 and 24
