Social media defamation action reportedly being raised

LEGAL history could be made in Scotland, it is being claimed, following a defamation case reportedly being taken against the author of remarks made on the social media platform, twitter.

Reports Keith McLeod in today’s Daily Record, a teacher has raised the action following anti-gay rants against her.

Adds McLeod: “Social networking site Twitter shut down [the ranter’s] account after protests from other users. But he was soon back with a new user name, peddling the same anti-gay messages.”
