Kirkpatrick appointed digital head at Yes Scotland campaign

THE editor of the Scots online news and features website, www.caledonianmercury.com, has been appointed digital head for the campaign urging a Yes vote during the referendum on Scotland’s constitutional future in two years’ time.

Stewart Kirkpatrick is a former editor at Scotsman.com. He is stepping down from his ‘Caley Merc’ role with immediate effect. He co-founded the site in January two years ago.

In a Yes Scotland media release, Blair Jenkins, chief executive, is quoted, as saying: “I am delighted that somebody of Stewart Kirkpatrick’s calibre is joining our team. In 21st century campaigning, digital content, development and management are fundamental to success and Stewart is undoubtedly a proven leader in this field of expertise.”

Kirkpatrick wrote a blog for the recent former version of allmediascotland.com
