Digital entrepreneurs being offered chance to test their ideas among leading industry figures

EDINBURGH has been chosen among a handful of cities throughout the world as a location for digital entrepreneurs to test their ideas among leading figures in their field.

A networking event is being hosted on the first of next month by Swiss company, Glowfori.

Cities already visited by the company include Cape Town, Barcelona and Moscow.

Among the leading figures, who will assess business ideas being pitched by delegates, are Jack Griffin, described by Glowfori as “part of the original Apple MacIntosh launch team in 1984 and responsible for bringing Apple to Europe”.

He is further described as “a specialist in developing global technology brand strategies”.

Also on the bill is James Scroggs, described as a “former marketing director of MTV and advertising executive. Winner of the Cannes Advertising Grand Prix Award and now leading HOOPLONDON which manages a portfolio of digital start-ups”.

They are joined by Tim Addison (“partner and marketing director of HttPool, the leading mobile, social and on-line add agency focused on emerging markets”), Kate Ho (“managing director of Interface3 and currently launching Tigerface Games”) and Dr. Gregor Hofer (“CEO of Speech Graphics, an award-winning spin-off of the University of Edinburgh School of Informatics”).
