Communications officer

 £24,000 – £27,000 per annum plus on call media allowance £500
 
Fixed-term contract until September 2015 – 35 hours per week
 
Glasgow, G51 3RR (until end of August) and G40 1DA

THE NSPCC national and regional communications team is responsible for all our interactions with the media, be it through printed media, broadcast or digital and across the UK nationally, devolved nations and regionally.

The team work collaboratively across the NSPCC to develop a strategic NSPCC presence in the public eye, creating a strong media platform for the NSPCC to publicise its work to fight for every childhood.

The role of the communications officer is to develop the NSPCC’s presence locally and across Scotland, ensuring that all communications on behalf of the organisation is of the highest standards, consistent with the NSPCC’s brand and key messages.

The role is also responsible for dealing with the diverse range of media making contact with the NSPCC on a daily basis for comment on children’s issues.

The role supports the full range of communications disciplines including inputting into internal communications, marketing and corporate affairs. The post holder will have experience of working in a busy media office and will have a full understanding of all communications disciplines including internal communications and marketing.

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills are key to the role.

A highly creative individual, the post holder will have a proven ability of working with and through other teams and departments to maximise results for an organisation.
