LAST year was a memorable year for sport in Scotland, and it remains an exciting time for us here at sportscotland – the national agency for sport – as we move into our new 2015-19 Corporate Plan phase and continue to work with a range of organisations to build a world class sporting system for everyone in Scotland.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced media and PR practitioner within our marketing and communications team.

This is a key role in the organisation as principal communications adviser to the chief executive, chair and senior management team and requires a motivated, experienced and dedicated candidate.

You will be used to providing counsel and advice at senior level, running a busy press office, leading on proactive communications as well as reactive and crisis management.

We are looking for someone with an established track record of successfully developing and implementing a media strategy, who has existing good contacts and relationships with the media and in public affairs. Knowledge of the sporting environment would be beneficial.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and have an excellent skill set across all aspects of communications, project management and stakeholder relationships.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate an excellent eye for detail, strong copy and editing skills across online and offline platforms and most importantly, you will have a pro-active, can-do attitude and will be ready to hit the ground running.
