POLICE Scotland is the national organisation for policing with a purpose to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities in Scotland.

The service is the second largest in the UK and covers over 28,000 square miles with a workforce of 23,000 officers and staff.

Effective communication is essential to the organisation and we are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic intranet officer to join our busy Internal Communications team.

You will be responsible for developing the intranet as an effective communication and collaboration tool, ensuring that content, structure, functionality and design are in line with our internal communication strategy and wider policing priorities.

Reporting to our intranet manager, you will work closely with the internal communications and IT web development teams develop the intranet’s functionality and design to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the service.

You will be educated to HND or degree level in a relevant discipline or where no formal qualifications exist you will have experience in a similar role in a large scale organisation.

An excellent working knowledge of SharePoint is essential and you must have experience in and be able to use all ‘out of the box’ products as you will take responsibility for working with Police Scotland divisions and departments to identify and develop opportunities to implement aspects of intranet functionality that streamline day-to-day business processes.

You will also develop and deliver corporate channels for specific business areas in conjunction with the intranet manager.

You will have experience of producing content for intranets or websites and a proven track record of providing advice and guidance to get the very best out of these sites.

In addition to SharePoint, you should also be able to use photo-editing software and demonstrate strong business analytical skills and the capacity to understand complex intranet requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent post and requires Standard Recruitment Vetting.
