Exciting news from ‘Beanotown’: we’re looking for a super-talented editorial menace to join our Comics team at Beano Towers in Dundee as a magazine journalist.
Our perfect candidate will be as passionate about comics as we are, with loads of industry contacts.
You’ll be brimming with ideas and have a killer sense of humour, a flair for telling stories, and a wild imagination.
We’re looking for people with prior editorial experience writing or commissioning on a comic or magazine (preferably in the children’s sector). As well as being able to string a brilliant sentence together on demand, you should be adept at subbing contributors’ work and giving clear, concise feedback.
Excellent knowledge of Beano’s characters and history is a bonus!
If you can creatively think yourself out of a problem, cope with multiple deadlines every week (sometimes every day), work well in a team, and know exactly what makes kids laugh, we want to hear from you!
Shortlisted applicants will be required to carry out a written task and complete an editorial test.
Please note this position will be based at our newly-refurbished office in the city centre.
