Media job: Editor, My Weekly

WE are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead the team producing My Weekly.

Reporting to the Consumer Magazines publisher, the successful candidate will devise strategies to grow the My Weekly brand through innovation, improvement and development in print, online and through brand extension.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

* Maximising My Weekly brand strength by producing high quality magazines that are keenly aligned with readers’ interests and desires;

* Exploiting opportunities for growth through innovation – across print, online and other platforms – building diverse revenue streams; and

* Providing strategic vision for the direction of a portfolio of publications and brand extensions, ensuring that brand values are maintained and quality standards achieved within budget and deadlines.

In this role, you will be required to generate, capture and communicate creative ideas which build on brand values and inspire modern mature women.

You will understand the need to adapt and develop the brand proposition as consumers’ media needs change. You will work to build the profile of My Weekly.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a high profile media role and experience of both print and online strategic development. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of My Weekly’s target market and the media environment we operate in. You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. You should have an awareness of copyright laws and codes of practice.

As a skilled communicator, you’ll be leading your team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You’ll also possess a desire and ability for developing talent – there’s a full team of brilliant writers and designers for you to motivate and grow the skills of to meet business needs. You’ll be managing challenging workloads to deadline, so you must have strong leadership and organisation skills.
