NEWSQUEST Scotland is looking for three ambitious trainee reporters to join its team of journalists based in Clydebank and Greenock.

The successful candidates will ideally already have a full set of NCTJ preliminary qualifications, including 100 wpm shorthand, have a great news sense, good writing ability, speed and accuracy, the confidence to work under pressure and the desire and hunger to find their own exclusive stories.

Preferably a car owner, applicants should have a strong record of work experience and a passion for the job.

This is a terrific opportunity for someone to show what they can do and make a significant contribution to our newsroom, and make the first steps in a successful career in the same group of titles as The Herald and Evening Times.

They should also show a willingness to learn new techniques and develop their skills as a multimedia reporter in an ever-changing media landscape, with a keen awareness of how best to use the paper’s growing digital media platforms in relation to the core print product.

The successful applicant will receive further training to prepare them for their final NQJ senior examinations.
