Media jobs: Reporters, The Press and Journal

CLOSING DATE: April 6, 2018

YOUR chance to be at the cutting edge of news…

The Press and Journal – Scotland’s best-selling quality newspaper and the biggest regional in the UK – is seeking…

REPORTERS – Peterhead and Aberdeen

We need an experienced reporter for our busy PETERHEAD office, covering the Banff and Buchan area.

This is a perfect opportunity for candidates who are good at working under their own steam, but they would also have the support of our Aberdeen news desk. Your news agenda could range from the controversy over EU fishing controls to local planning and community issues.

The important thing is that you immerse yourself in the local community, build great contacts and produce interesting exclusives – while routinely covering council meetings and courts.

Previous newsroom experience is essential for this role because it requires the ability and confidence to tackle any assignment.

There is also an opportunity to fill a part-time reporter position in our ABERDEEN head-office newsroom.

This role involves working part-time for two days a week, but would require the same level of commitment, hard work and enthusiasm to make an impact.

You will enjoy a competitive salary, contributory pension scheme, healthcare cash plan and a generous holiday allowance.

Please state in your application which role you are applying for.

If you think you have what it takes and the experience required, send your CV and covering letter by post to : Richard Neville, editor-in-chief, The Press and Journal, PO Box 43, Lang Stracht, Aberdeen, AB15 6DF
