If GIFs are your second language and you’re looking for a fun, challenging role working for some amazing children’s magazines, then this is the job for you.

We are looking for an editorial assistant to work on our children’s magazines here at DC Thomson, based at Meadowside, Dundee.

Across the department, we’ve got an array of fantastic titles, including Shout, Unicorn Universe, Sweet, The Official Jacqueline Wilson Magazine, 110% Gaming, Animals and You and our This Is series.

Joining our hard-working team would give you the chance to work in this fast-paced, busy and creative environment with a particular focus on our Shout and Unicorn Universe magazines.

There are no academic requirements for this role; however, we expect you to be brimming with creative ideas for magazine and online content, with excellent written, communication and grammatical skills as well as a flair for juggling multiple deadlines.

You should be knowledgeable about what makes kids and teens tick and have an excellent awareness of relevant YouTubers, celebrities, music, TV, film and other popular trends.

You should also have a love of magazines and an awareness of the wider media industry.

This role will introduce you to this exciting world of publishing, learning about the process of creating a magazine from start to finish. You will work closely with the editorial team, benefiting from mentoring throughout.
