Content editor – My World of Work, Skills Development Scotland

SKILLS Development Scotland has an exciting opportunity to apply for a position as content editor within the Content Team at My World of Work.

The successful candidate will be able to display a wide range of digital content skills and demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of content management systems. They will be passionate about writing for the web, demonstrate strong editorial judgement and love to think up creative ideas for content.

Job Purpose:

The position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in helping shape our prominent website in an environment that has informative and innovative content at its heart.

The key purpose of the Content Editor is to originate and manage content for delivery across New Media platforms, versioning material where necessary.

Ensuring that our universal online service is full of engaging, useful and fresh content for our identified target audiences.

The post holder will be involved in integrated working with the wider my World of Work Programme Team and with contacts across SDS, developing a rich customer insight and ensuring that this together with market intelligence, informs the content development.

The post holder will ensure the delivery of high quality content, this will involve creative and innovative thinking to shape the work.

The post holder will be required to work across the whole business creating an awareness of the My World of Work programme and embedding it within all directorates in the business. This will involve working closely with, presenting and influencing colleagues at all levels across the business. It will also involve working with, from a developmental perspective, external suppliers.

The post holder will be required to content manage the web service, and have a solid understanding of the content management process and requirements.

The post holder will be required to co-ordinate the user testing of content within My World of Work and play a major role in the UAT testing prior to all releases.
