Online editor – Aberdeen Journals

AS part of the continued development of our digital and online offerings, we are recruiting for a new role of online editor.

Reporting directly to the editor, as online editor you will manage a digital portfolio of website, apps, social media and digital editions. You will deliver and continually develop the digital portfolio and content for the newspaper titles through managing and undertaking regular content updates and activity across all relevant digital channels ensuring all content is vibrant and conforms to the highest standards.

Based in Aberdeen.

The successful candidate will work extremely closely with the editor and newsroom to ensure the success of both the print and online products. You will develop and manage social media channels, exploiting the likes of Facebook, Twitter etc to drive traffic to the website and build engaged digital communities for the title.

With previous experience of online writing and editing, you will possess working knowledge of web content management systems, and sound knowledge of HTML and CSS. An understanding of digital analytics packages would be advantageous as would a working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
