Assistant producers – ITV News Border

CLOSING DATE: October 18, 2013

Location: Edinburgh

ITV News Border is in an exciting expansion phase and is launching a new service of current affairs and political programmes for ITV Border Scotland.

We have two opportunities for experienced assistant producers to develop, research and script our programmes.

You will be responsible for creating strong editorial content in conjunction with the series producer and executive producer and guiding more junior members of the team.

As well as having original ideas, you will need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding for story telling. You will be expected to manage the research, planning and execution of concepts through to the realisation of the final programmes. You may be required to compile scripts, direct crews and in some situations self shoot and edit your own material.

As our successful candidate, you will have a proven track record of producing excellent content to deadline and under pressure. In addition to this, experience of delivering innovation across all media platforms and a reputation for using a creative approach whilst displaying sound creative judgement would be useful. A demonstrable interest in Scottish affairs and politics is essential. The ability to self-shoot is not essential but would be a distinct advantage.

Please note that this role could be considered as a part-time or job share opportunity.

If you are passionate and committed to regional affairs and possess the creativity and skills that will help us achieve our goals, then we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date for applications – Friday, 18th October 2013.
