Editor (Scotland) – The Conversation

CLOSING DATE: December 16, 2013

THE Conversation is seeking to recruit a Scotland editor.

Launched in the UK in May, The Conversation brings together journalists and academics to create a general news analysis and comment service. In just over six months, content created by experts working with the team of editors based at City University in London has been read by more than five million people.

Now The Conversation is to add a Scotland editor to its team. A talented individual with a strong journalistic background is sought to fill this senior position. The successful candidate will display a grasp of the new media landscape and The Conversation’s role within it. She or he will have outstanding copy editing skills, and be comfortable commissioning content and representing the organisation.

This is a unique opportunity at a vital time for Scotland. The Conversation seeks to cover events shaping Scotland, but also to reflect the huge amount of work being done in Scottish universities that is internationally focussed.

With a competitive salary and, initially, a six-month contract, the successful candidate will be based in Glasgow, with regular travel around Scotland’s universities.

Please send a CV and covering letter to: jobs.theconversation.uk@gmail.com

The closing date for applications is noon on Monday, December 16th.

This is a new post created with financial assistance from the Scottish Funding Council.
