THE post holder will be the communications professional lead for the organisation on delivering an integrated, co-ordinated, internal and change communications strategy that supports the organisation’s purpose and supports it through a period of significant change.

The post holder will hold a degree or equivalent in public relations, staff engagement or related communication discipline. They will have proven experience at a senior management level in this field and will have evidence of leading and managing a team.

They will be able to lead on the delivery of internal campaigns, initiatives and communications strategies to meet and support the organisational goals and the business plan. They will demonstrate an understanding of personnel practice and devolved budget management.

They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess a high level of self-motivation and be able to work on their own initiative. They will be an effective autonomous decision maker and have excellent project management skills. They will have a strong awareness of the internal communications discipline and be aware of emerging trends and opportunities.

The role is a senior position within Corporate Communications which will lead a number of teams to deliver the corporate objectives. It is a senior management role both for staff and service outputs and will play a significant role in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships.
