Regional communications – Red Bull

YOU will be the communications specialist for Red Bull’s North/Scotland regional marketing team. Working closely with the national communications team, your job is to generate positive press coverage for Red Bull events and projects in your region, across all media – print, TV, radio and online.

You will be expected to come up with innovative communications and digital campaigns to tell compelling stories that centre around Red Bull’s philosophy of giving wings to people and ideas.

You will build strong relationships with regional media partners and journalists, create press materials, sell in stories and manage media on site at events. You will also identify new partnership and collaboration opportunities in order to increase awareness for the Red Bull brand in your region.

Responsibilities

Implementing Communications Strategy (75 per cent)

* Lead on regional communications and PR strategy, demonstrating a full appreciation for the media landscape in relation to sports and culture industries

* Develop and execute bespoke communications plans that utilize all media channels, driving Red Bulls brand messaging in conjunction with localised consumer facing events and projects

* Work collaboratively with the National Communications team to maximise the impact of national projects within the region

* Develop and manage a credible network of media contacts from key regional newspapers and budding photographers to magazine editors and regional broadcasters, utilizing such relationships for the benefit of the company

* Show diligence in spending across key initiatives, and evaluate results to ensure project targets and budgets are met

* Think about the evolution of Red Bulls regional communications legacy, considering how best to maintain and manage the network of contacts built

* Be the prime contributor to regional social media channels ensuring they are on message and fit with the voice of the brand

* Embrace digital platforms, working with the wider team to develop relevant content that engages consumers and delivers visitors to Red Bull platforms

* Brief and manage external agency support as/when required including, but not exclusive to, production companies, PR agencies, and event agencies

* Identify opportunities to give wings to innovative sports and culture initiatives, that maintain Red Bull’s appetite for ground breaking change

* Position Red Bull as a valid and innovative contributor to third-party events/projects

Event management (25 per cent)

Skills requirements

* Strong regional media contacts or evidence of ability to build relationships in similar role

* Confident writer with a strong understanding of media industry particularly the way in which the regional media operates

* Excellent social media understanding and regular user of key social media sites

* Strong geographical and sport and/or culture scene knowledge of Northern England and Scotland

* Creative flare with a passion for brands and cutting-edge scenes

* Exceptional administrative skills and well-versed in Microsoft Office

* Self-starter who demonstrates real drive and attention to detail

* A confident and outgoing approach to work

* Responsive to change

Experience requirements

* Two-plus years relevant PR and communications experience
