OFCOM is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK’s broadcasting, telecommunications, wireless communications and postal sectors.

The Content Board is a Committee of the Ofcom Board with delegated responsibility for a range of activities including content protection, broadcasting sanctions and radio and television licensing.

Ofcom is seeking to recruit one new non-executive member for the Content Board who should represent the interest of citizens in Scotland.

Applicants for the post will demonstrate a clear understanding of issues to be faced in present and future content regulation in the digital age. An understanding of broadcast media is essential and knowledge of the wider media environment, including advertising markets, is highly desirable. Candidates will need to demonstrate clarity, rigour, and independence of thought, as well as impartiality and a participative approach to decision making.

The time commitment is up to three days per month.
