Media Job: Knowledge and information lead, CELCIS

CLOSING DATE: March 1, 2015

CELCIS is the Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland. Together with partners, we are working to improve the lives of all looked-after children in Scotland. It is based at the University of Strathclyde.

This is an excellent opportunity for the Knowledge and Information Lead to plan and implement the delivery of high-quality internal and external knowledge mobilisation strategies in CELCIS.

This will include the synthesis, writing, dissemination, exchange and application of knowledge to the sector in order to improve outcomes for looked after children, young people and care leavers.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who will be required to work systemically across CELCIS, the university and with external stakeholders to ensure that effective knowledge mobilisation strategies are successfully developed and implemented.

You will be strategic, work confidently and independently – with the support of the CELCIS strategic management team – to develop CELCIS’ growing profile and credibility in the look after sector.

The post holder will lead Knowledge and Information activities across CELCIS, through the implementation and evaluation of key strategies which will bridge the gap between evidence and practice for those who support looked-after children.

This includes professionals at a strategic, operational and practice level and those with corporate parenting responsibilities.

The postholder will lead on synthesising, writing, disseminating and applying knowledge in order to equip those in this sector to improve outcomes for looked after children, young people and care leavers.

The postholder will lead on the development and delivery of a range of accessible and relevant messages, evidence, materials and information and manage the CELCIS communications team.

The successful candidate will draft, edit, review and bring to publication standard reports, reviews, policy and practice guidance material, learning and development curriculum.

This will involve engaging with key stakeholders internally and externally to ensure successful dissemination and impact.
