Media Job: Head of communications, PIRC

THE Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) is currently recruiting for an experienced communications manager to join her team in Hamilton.

As head of Communications, you will lead and deliver all aspects of our external communications and will be the first point of contact for media enquiries.

You will also be responsible for the development and delivery of the organisation’s corporate internal communications programme and stakeholder engagement activities.

The successful candidate will be expected to positively manage PIRC‘s reputation with media and stakeholders and ensure that key messages are effectively and consistently delivered.

This is a high-profile and demanding role; as such, the successful candidate will be expected to manage their priorities with often multiple and conflicting demands on your time. It is an exciting time in our development as an organisation, adapting whilst contributing to the new justice landscape in Scotland.

Experience of media relations within the criminal justice system in Scotland would be advantageous.
