News editor (fixed term, six months) – Third Force News

CLOSING DATE: April 23, 2014

Third Force news editor

six-months, fixed-term contract

Edinburgh

£27,479 to £31,603

Third Force News (TFN) is the must-read publication for staff and volunteers in Scotland’s ‘third sector’, as well as politicians and decision-makers across Scotland.

It has recently launched a new digital service, providing breaking news and features to readers wherever they are and whenever they require it. This continues to be complimented by a weekly newspaper, distributed to Scottish charities, big and small, throughout the country.

If you’re passionate about news and the issues facing Scotland’s charities and have the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences, we’d like to hear from you.

This role will support SCVO’s editor of news services over the next six months as TFN transitions from a print newspaper to a multi-media publication.

You’ll come to us with plenty of experience of sourcing and writing news content as well as experience of sub-editing or running a news desk.

This role will involve writing content as well as carrying out sub-editing shifts. As a senior member of a small team of reporters, you will support the editor to ensure daily and weekly deadlines are met.

To apply, download an application pack from www.goodmoves.org.uk today, or call our recruitment line on 0131 474 8033.

Closing date for receipt of applications: Wednesday 23 April 2014 (by 12 noon)
