Media Job: Trainee reporter: Alloa Advertiser

ROMANES Media Group is seeking to appoint a trainee reporter to play an important role within its team of journalists at its Alloa office.

Applicants must have undergone NCTJ pre-entry training or equivalent, have a great news sense, the desire and hunger to find their own exclusive stories, good writing ability, speed and accuracy and the confidence to work as part of a team and under pressure.

Preferably a car owner, applicants should have a strong record of work experience and a passion for the job. Working mainly on the Alloa Advertiser as well as the Stirling News and Strathallan Times, this is a terrific opportunity for someone to show what they can do and make a significant contribution to our newsroom.

They should also show a willingness to learn new techniques and develop their skills as a multimedia reporter in an ever-changing media landscape, with a keen awareness of how best to use the paper’s growing digital media platforms in relation to the core print product.
