Media Release: Decommissioning Technology receives glowing reception

Hugh MacKenzie, Technical Director, Paradigm Flow Services

A LEADING developer of technology for the energy industry has experienced strong levels of interest in its decommissioning capabilities, following a warmly-received presentation at SPE Offshore Europe – and staff are now gearing up to share additional expertise at other key industry events.

During the recent biennial event in Aberdeen, Paradigm Flow Services’ technical director, Hugh Mackenzie, participated in a conference session entitled, ‘Decommissioning of Wells and Pipelines’, by delivering a paper which focused on cost reducing pipeline decommissioning technology.

Now, building on the success of the Aberdeen paper, company representatives are preparing to share other aspects of their decommissioning knowledge and expertise.

They will attend the Pigging Products & Services Association (PPSA) Conference in Aberdeen, Scotland on November 17th and 18th and Subsea Asia in Jakarta, Indonesia, on November 23rd and 24th, as well as delivering a joint paper at the Decom North Sea Offshore Decommissioning Conference in St Andrews, Scotland from November 17th to 19th.

Commenting on the success of the Aberdeenshire-based company’s involvement in the SPE Offshore Europe session, Hugh Mackenzie said: “We were very pleased to achieve excellent feedback on our presentation which was well received by delegates.

“In addition, we are delighted to report a good level of subsequent enquiries which hold the potential to translate into work as soon as 2016.”

He added: “Current operating conditions mean there is a healthy appetite for innovative, efficient and effective solutions such as ours, and we now look forward to sharing other aspects of our ground-breaking, field proven technology at other key industry events both at home and overseas.”
