LEADING casing accessory and completion tool company, Downhole Products, has underlined its commitment to North-east sport development with a youth football sponsorship deal.
The Portlethen-based company has just announced that it has become kit sponsor for Formartine United Youth Academy’s brand new 2009 age group which is currently in its inaugural season.
The squad trains at Formartine United’s home ground at North Lodge Park near Pitmedden and will play in SFA 4v4 festivals throughout the North east and at Aberdeen Sports Village over the winter months.
Established in 1994, Downhole Products – a Sandvik Company – is recognised as a world market-leader in the design, manufacture and supply of casing accessories and completion tools such as centralisers, reamer guide shoes and cable clamp protectors.
The most recent addition to the portfolio is a new advanced casing drilling centraliser, CaseRunner™, which was unveiled at this year’s Offshore Europe in Aberdeen.
The company’s headquarters are at Portlethen near Aberdeen and it operates bases in Australia, the Middle East, Asia and USA.
Commenting on the football sponsorship, Downhole Products’ vice-president, Mark Dundee, said: “We were delighted to have this opportunity to play a part in encouraging up-and-coming sporting talent and we look forward to supporting this new team. “We now have a squad at every age with six development teams from the 2009s up to the 2004s then moving in to the competitive squads again with six teams from the under 13s to under 19s.
“The Youth Academy now has approximately 350 signed and affiliated players and is growing all the time.”
