MACDONALD Pittodrie House Hotel, on the outskirts of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, can announce that newly-appointed general manager, Pim Wolfs, has been selected for a prestigious Master Innholder Scholarship.
Begins a spokesperson: “Sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Master Innholders, the scholarship programme is a competitive annual scheme open to managers from throughout the hospitality industry.
“As one of only 19 successful candidates for 2016, Pim will attend a personal development training programme at the highly-accredited Cranfield School of Management in Bedfordshire.”
Speaking of the award, he says: “I was thoroughly supported by the company, which underlines the emphasis placed on staff development by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.
“This programme is about developing my skills not only as a manager but more importantly as a leader.
He continues: “Going forward, I will quantify the benefits to the business by my approach to developing my team. This is not about being task orientated but developing people first, to enhance product and profit therafter.
“This is all about feeding back into the industry to develop the next raft of excellent managers and leaders in turn.”
After successful completion, Master Innholder Scholars are known as St. Julien Scholars and form a select group of standard bearers, developing and upholding best practice within the hospitality industry.
