Media Release: Ayr students graduate from Ayrshire College

True Anderson Student of the Year Ayr Campus

STUDENTS from Ayrshire College’s Ayr campus celebrated their graduation in style at the town’s historic Town Hall.

The 116 graduates were honoured at a spectacular ceremony in front of their families and friends, local politicians, Ayrshire College board members and staff.

Principal, Heather Dunk, said: “It is fantastic to see so many proud friends and family members here to celebrate our students’ achievements. I am sure they will all continue to flourish with further study at college or university or in their chosen career. I wish them every success.”

Ayrshire College’s graduation ceremonies are being sponsored by the Ayrshire College Foundation.

John Rainey, chair of the Foundation, said: “The Ayrshire College Foundation is delighted to be sponsoring the College’s graduation ceremonies this year. I have no doubt that the success of today’s graduates will inspire others to pursue education.”

At the graduation ceremony, the principal announced that the overall Student of the Year for the Ayr Campus was True Anderson, from Stranraer, who graduated with HND Visual Communication.

Heather said: “True is a very hard-working individual who has designed the new Ayrshire College Foundation website. She is a very worthy Student of the Year winner.

“I would like to congratulate True on her considerable success and wish her all the best of luck as she moves onto Glasgow Caledonian University.”
