FORMER sports journalist and communications professional, Andy Weston, has launched his own sports content marketing agency – Weston Sports Marketing.

The new agency will produce bespoke sports content for clients for use on any multimedia platform whilst also offering up a content distribution service.

Weston, who was formerly media and communications manager at London Scottish rugby club, said: “The sports marketing industry is really booming just now as is the importance of producing quality sports content to engage and attract the attention of an audience.

“Traditional advertising and communication channels are still very relevant today but with an unbelievable amount of competition to get people’s attention, we believe the value of producing quality sports content and telling a client’s story through sport can help them stand out from the crowd.

“As well as working directly with individual clients, we plan to work in collaboration with other marketing and PR agencies, something I did latterly last year, helping promote a hugely successful Help for Heroes charity cricket event, alongside London-based agency, Logan Sports Marketing.”

He continued: “Sport’s such a powerful and emotive medium and we aim to work with companies, brands, charities, sports bodies and educational establishments who want to use sports content as an effective communications tool.”

Weston Sports Marketing has kicked-off 2016 helping launch World Golf Trick Shot Champion Geoff Swain’s new golf app and providing content, news distribution and consultancy solutions for high performance sports training specialists – The Athlete Factory UK.

Former Media Scotland sports reporter, Weston, who’s based in Glasgow, added: “There’s no substitute for great content and with the help of some of the best sports-loving communications professionals in the country, we aim to deliver compelling content for use on any platform.”
