e. Simon Maxwell

THE Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show, Scotland’s largest consumer exhibition for self-builders, home renovators and improvers, is back at the SECC on May 21 – 22 2016, for the 15th consecutive year.

Commenting, Nick Noble, show director, says: “There’s a strong appetite for self-build and renovating in Scotland – last year, we welcomed almost 7,000 visitors over two days. We are looking forward to returning to Glasgow in May.”

Whether you’re mid-way through a project or don’t know where to start, The Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show is brimming with bright ideas. Swap months of scouring the internet for face-to-face consultations, specialist masterclasses and hundreds of products – all under one roof.

The exhibition will be full of informative features, thousands of dream home ideas, hundreds of plots and renovation opportunities and the latest products and services from over 140 exhibitors.

Building and renovation professionals can hear about a range of innovative solutions to help builders and small developers improve efficiency and profitability.

Experts will be on hand to provide free guidance and support to visitors for every project from first home alterations to a full-scale self-build, at:

* Eight seminars each day where experts will share their experiences and tips to help visitors progress their project and avoid expensive mistakes. Subjects include ‘beginner’s guide to self-build’, ‘budgeting and extension design ideas';

* 24 free masterclasses where exhibitors will provide practical advice on their area of expertise. Topics will include eco homebuilding, design ideas and energy efficiency;

* The Advice Centre – visitors can bring their plans, outline drawings or ideas and speak to one of the experts from Homebuilding & Renovating Magazine, including self-build expert David Snell, eco Expert Tim Pullen and TV presenter and leading property expert, Michael Holmes; and

Ask the Architects -  no matter the stage or scale of a project, visitors can bring their plans and talk free, one-to-one, to an ASBA architect and save yourself £100s on consultancy fees.
