THE Scottish Organic Milk Producers Association (SOMPA) has unveiled an aphrodisiac milkshake recipe they claim is the perfect way to start Valentine’s Day this Sunday.
Begins a spokesperson: “The recipe combines four ingredients with nutritional properties that help boost libido and improve bloodflow. Key to the aphrodisiac milkshake is organic milk, which studies have shown contains 39 per cent more of the essential fatty acid Omega-3 which is known to improve blood flow – to all areas of the body.”
Gavin Lochhead, chair of the Scottish Organic Milk Producers Association, said: “Organic milk has different properties to non-organic milk because of the very high proportion of grass and clover that cows raised on organic farms graze on, our cows spend as much time as possible outside grazing on rich pastures.
“We’ve known for some time that organic milk contains high levels of Omega-3 but we were delighted, although perhaps not surprised, to find out that Omega-3 is considered essential for maintaining a healthy libido.
“This tasty aphrodisiac milkshake is the perfect way to start Valentine’s Day, we hope everyone who buys Scottish Organic Milk will enjoy the fruits of all that nutritional goodness on Sunday!”
The aphrodisiac milkshake recipe posted on the @ScotOrganicMilk twitter account includes:
* Scottish Organic Milk: organic milk contains higher levels of Omega 3 fatty acids “which have been shown to contribute towards enhancing sex drive”.
* Bananas: packed with potassium and B vitamins, “both of which help increase libido”.
* Dark chocolate: contains phenylethylamine, “which can improve your mood, increase your serotonin levels and give you a caffeine energy boost”.
* Honey: naturally sweet and rich in B vitamins, “important nutrients for testosterone production”.
The recipe devised by the group of organic farmers allows for some interpretation, as Gavin explains:
“The recipe is a wee bit of fun and as such it includes farmers’ measurements – dollops, glugs and chunks – after all, you don’t want to be faffing about measuring out ingredients when you’re getting in the mood for milkshakes!”
