TEXAS Global Business Network (TGBN) announced today that member, Travis Middleton of TradeMark Insurance, has been chosen to chair the fourth annual Houston – Aberdeen Gateway event in Aberdeen.

The three-day event will commence on March 21, 2016 and will bring together business influencers from both sides of the Atlantic interested in driving business growth by increasing their global footprint.

Mr. Middleton explained: “As the first Texas chair of Granite PR’s annual Aberdeen-Houston Gateway in Aberdeen, I am excited at the prospect of being involved with such a diverse and dynamic group of presenters.”

He added that he was also excited about another Gateway first, the inclusion of the ‘Shire Showcase’, which will take place on Wednesday, 23 March 2016 at 12 p.m. and will be hosted at the Macdonald Pittodrie House Hotel.

He continued: “TGBN members travel frequently to Scotland to stay in touch with our clients, including Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. We are delighted that the Shire Showcase will expand our reach in the northeast of Scotland and introduce us to new businesses and opportunities in Aberdeenshire.”

The keynote event, the Gateway Luncheon, will take place on Tuesday, March 22nd at Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and feature several presenters, including fellow TGBN member Art Beatty, of Beatty CPA LLC.

Mr. Beatty will be addressing why Texas, and specifically Houston, is an excellent environment for business, the process involved in taking a business from Scotland to Houston, and how having a cohesive group of advisors that work collaboratively can improve efficiency and the bottom line. Presentation materials will be made available on the News section of TGBN’s website, www.TexasGlobalBusiness.com.

Mr. Beatty said: “Aberdeen and Houston are both leading global energy hubs and we’re seeing a refocusing of priorities due to the current oil slump.

“Strengthening referral networks, seeking adjunct opportunities, and exploring new markets are some of the ways that smart businesses are seeking to address the downturn.

“TGBN members are uniquely positioned to help grow, nurture, and protect those businesses, often with a significant time and cost savings, because we work collaboratively with the client and with each other.”
