Media Release: Great British Barber Bash team returns to Aberdeen

L&M2

AN Aberdeen city centre hair salon is getting set to host its second exclusive barbering event following the success of its inaugural workshop held at the start of this year.

Linton & Mac, a luxury hair salon which opened in the city’s Netherkirkgate in September 2015, is due to host yet another hot training session in association with The Great British Barber Bash team, on Monday 9 May.

Returning to the fashion-forward salon is award-winner barber, Alan Beak, and his brother Reece Beak, both from Manchester’s Ruger Barber. For the second time, the duo will showcase the industry’s upcoming barbering trends to help inject inspiration in to the North-east.

The ticket-only event, which is open to the public and trade, will give attendees the opportunity to observe a three-hour morning presentation of cutting skills and fading techniques, before putting their skills to the test in the afternoon workshop.

The previous Barber Bash workshop was held at Linton & Mac in January, with tickets selling out in only four weeks.

Creative director of Linton & Mac, Joanna MacDonald, said: “We are delighted to be hosting yet another Barber Bash workshop here at the salon.

“After the success of the first one, we jumped at the chance to work with the Great British Barber Bash team again, as the high level of training and development in the industry is something we are missing here in the North-east.

“Trends in hairdressing and barbering change constantly, so it is important for us to be ahead of the game; not only for our clients but also to inspire our staff and encourage them to push creative boundaries. This is what Linton & Mac is all about.”

Garry Spencer, founder of the Great British Barber Bash, added: “We are delighted to be back in Aberdeen as we experienced a great welcome and response from our first workshop held at the Linton & Mac premises.

“It is a pleasure to be working with both the barbers and the Linton & Mac girls again and hopefully there will be many more visits to come.”

Linton & Mac, which has a created more than 17 new jobs in the city, prides itself on employee development, and education is a key focus at the salon to provide up-to-date industry knowledge to clients.

Tickets are priced at £75 per person to spectate and £150 per person to participate in a full day of working alongside these top professionals.

Lunch and refreshments are included in both ticket prices.
