Peppe Lepre Ciao Napoli

AN Aberdeen-based family run Italian restaurant is celebrating after being nominated as a finalist in prestigious hospitality awards.

Ciao Napoli, which was established in 2003 by brothers, Peppe and Nino Lepre, is the only Granite City restaurant to be nominated in the Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards 2016.

The restaurant has been nominated in the final five for Scotland’s Best Italian Restaurant category, alongside prestigious eateries from the Central Belt. The awards are recognised as Scotland’s largest hospitality event, where the public gets to vote for their favourite venues nationwide.

Finalists were selected following a secret visit by independent judges to Ciao Napoli, analysing everything from on-site service to the quality of food and engagement with the public.

The top-voted venues, which competed against over 1,000 business across Scotland, qualify for the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality VIP final, to be held at the Glasgow City Hotel on Sunday 8 May, 2016.

Peppe Lepre, co-owner and chef, said: “We are delighted to make it to the final of these prestigious awards. Our business ethos is simple; provide high-quality Italian food created using fresh, locally-sourced produce from Scotland, as well as the artisan Italian markets in Naples.

“Ciao Napoli is one of Aberdeen’s only traditional Italian restaurants and we focus on simple dishes which allow the flavor of the ingredients to stand out.

“Our relaxed dining environment allows people to savour each dish and as a result we have a high number of customers who have been coming to us for years.

“We are delighted that our customers have voted for us to be nominated in the top five Italian restaurants in Scotland. It is a testament to the unique experience we offer and the high level of service provided by our loyal staff.”
