JUST a handful of places remain at a major business event which will link two of Europe’s leading energy hubs next week.

The Aberdeen-Norway Gateway, hosted by Granite PR and managed by Business Plus Scotland, will return for the third consecutive year having grown from its original Aberdeen-Stavanger Gateway name to embrace even more of the opportunities presented throughout Norway.

This year’s two-day event is a joint initiative with the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) which celebrates its 110th birthday this year.

On Tuesday (June 14th), Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel will be the setting for a lunchtime event chaired by Francis Kiernan CEO of ABIS (Holdings) Energy Services Ltd.

During the session, an impressive line-up of speakers will share their expertise in doing business on both sides of the North Sea.

They will include:

  • James Crawford, Wood Group PSN
  • Alfie Cheyne, ACE Winches
  • Guy Bromby, ThinJack Ltd
  • Leif Johan Sevland, ONS Exhibition, Conference, Festival
  • Steve Mitchell, Anderson Anderson Brown
  • Lise Dean, Widerøe’s Flyveselskap A.S
  • Lord Provost of Aberdeen George Adam
  • Provost of Aberdeenshire Hamish Vernal
  • Gordon McIntosh, Aberdeen City Council

A new addition for this year will be a Wednesday (June 15th) showcase business exhibition to coincide with the NBCC’s annual barbecue at Kippie Lodge Sports & Country Club, Milltimber.

Commenting on plans for the 2016 Aberdeen-Norway Gateway, Granite PR managing director and event creator, Brett Jackson, said: “We are delighted at the level of interest this event has generated, particularly given the tough operating conditions so many businesses continue to face.

“Because of this, the ability to throw the net further and think wider in geographical and sector terms has never been more important and this event underlines that ethos.”

The Aberdeen-Norway Gateway 2016 is supported by Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen International Associates, Aberdeenshire Council, ABIS (Holdings) Energy Services Ltd, ACE Winches, a-line Audio Visual, Anderson Anderson Brown, Business Plus Scotland, Energy Voice, Greater Stavanger, Kippie Lodge Sports & Country Club, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce, ONS, Petrasco Energy Logistics, Press & Journal Energy, SDI, Skene Business Centres, Skene House HotelSuites, ThinJack, Thorpe Molloy Recruitment, Widerøe’s Flyveselskap A.S, Wood Group PSN.
