LUXURY Edinburgh venue, Dundas Castle, has launched five-star glamping in the grounds of its 500-acre estate.
In association with UK operator, Glampotel, this is the first venture for the brand in Scotland and gives Edinburgh visitors an unique luxury offering this summer.
Set on the shores of the private Dundas Estate loch, the canvas cottages come with every home comfort.
Each one sits on its own grassy knoll, giving privacy and seclusion from other glampers. Only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and a short ride into the city centre, the location of the Dundas glamping offers the perfect combination of a city visit with an unspoilt country hideaway.
Owner of Dundas Castle, Sir Jack Stewart-Clark comments: “I am thrilled that we are able to bring luxury glamping to the Dundas Estate.
“We are fortunate in having a beautiful loch. Our plans are to locate over the next 12 months ten new glamping units which will be located along the loch side which will give those who rent them a lovely view over the water and be able to enjoy the tranquillity of the nature and wildlife around them.
“Nearby is our boathouse which is particularly popular for the first night of a honeymoon and for those wanting to get away from it all. We look forward to welcoming our new customers.”
Founder and CEO of Glampotel, Paul Woolnough, comments: “I am very excited and honoured to be partnering with Sir Jack Stewart-Clark in bringing Glampotel to Dundas Castle.
“The loch is an incredible location for our canvas cottages, and I believe our customers will enjoy one of the most unique and romantic glamping experiences available today.”
Dundas Castle glamping starts at £189 per night for two in a five-star canvas cottage including: equipped kitchenette, shower room with toiletries and flushable toilets, barbecue, wood burning stove, towels, cool box, lighting, patio heater, comfy seating and a lockable safe box.
Luxury breakfast hampers can be delivered at a time chosen by the guests. Added extras will also be made available upon request for that extra special occasion, making your Dundas Glampotel experience truly wonderful.
Dundas Castle is a five-star exclusive-use venue suitable for group events, corporate meetings and weddings for up to 200 people.
The castle has 17 luxury bedrooms, plus a range of meeting rooms and event spaces both within the castle and its extensive grounds. Situated on the loch, the castle also offers self-catering within its romantic getaway, four-star boathouse.
Glampotel is considered the world’s first true glamping ‘hotel’ chain, and prides itself on bringing eco-tourism glamorous camping at its finest around the UK.
Each Glampotel is run independently by passionate and experienced leisure property owners, with all of them offering the very best of camping, combined with the luxuries of a boutique hotel – hence the name: ‘Glamp-otel’.
