AS Royal Troon Golf Club in Ayrshire prepares to host this weekend’s 145th Open Championship, the prestigious new-look Trump Turnberry resort has been delivered by ISG, who successfully completed concurrent multi-million pound projects at the world-renowned property and delivered on the vision to create the most luxurious hotel anywhere in the UK.

The contractor has comprehensively refurbished, remodelled and upgraded all 103 bedrooms, delivering opulent and high-specification guest accommodation, with large marble bathrooms a key feature of every room. ISG has also constructed a stunning 500-person capacity grand ballroom at the prestigious golfing and leisure venue.

External enhancements at the hotel include the replacement of all windows with new high-performance glazed units, repairs to the roof and dormers and renewal of render to all elevations at the 109 year-old building. The new 6,000 sq ft grand ballroom provides additional capacity to the venue’s existing facilities and has been sympathetically designed to blend seamlessly with the original architecture of the hotel building.

Andy McLinden, ISG’s Northern managing director, commented: “With the British Open tee-ing off this weekend, the eyes of the world are set to turn to the area and Trump Turnberry offers a magnificent showcase for our expertise delivering world-leading hotel facilities.

“The attention to detail and exacting standards demanded by our customer have been more than met at the Trump Turnberry and I’m extremely proud that ISG has played a key role in delivering a luxury hotel that competes on a global stage.”

As a result of this investment and stunning transformation, Trump Turnberry resort is amongst the most elite and finest hotel properties in the UK.

“Furthermore, in successfully completing this project on time and on budget, ISG has reinforced its ability and specialist expertise in delivering outstanding facilities to exacting standards.”

Trump Turnberry further reinforces ISG’s reputation within the luxury hotel sector, as the contractor already counts a number of Scotland’s best-known and most prestigious venues among its customer base, including the iconic Old Course Hotel and Hamilton Grand development in St Andrews, as well as at the world-famous Gleneagles Hotel and the luxurious Cameron House Hotel in Loch Lomond.

ISG recently announced two further hospitality projects in Edinburgh with a combined value of £20 million.

The company will deliver Scotland’s newest ‘hub by Premier Inn’ hotel and also secured the contract for the first venture in Edinburgh by European operator, the Carlton Hotel Collection, delivered in partnership with The EDI Group.
