PublicRelationsToUse

A DUNOON-based software development company is to accelerate its growth plans and create new jobs after securing a £50,000 investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).

The HIE investment will enable Samteq to develop and market TickX Limited, a nationwide ticket search engine that searches all events, compares all prices and finds the best priced tickets.

The search can be used for club nights, music gigs, festivals, sports events, lifestyle exhibitions, theatre shows, and comedy nights.

Confirming the HIE investment, area manager, Jennifer Nicoll, said: “Samteq is an ambitious company with excellent growth plans and the potential to create several new quality jobs in Dunoon, notably some that will be attractive for young people.

“Our investment is focussed on increasing the economic benefit to Argyll, and specifically the Cowal Peninsula, as a result of this and future products that Samteq will develop.”

Samteq was started five years ago. It has developed user-friendly websites and web-based products for more than 150 companies across the UK and Europe.

The ‘Genius’ applications the company creates streamline tasks to make businesses more efficient. Samteq has also developed a number of interactive touch-screen kiosks that are used to bring information to life in a fun and interactive way.

The company is investing a total of £200,000 in developing and marketing TickX.

The move will create three new posts initially and accelerate the creation of up to another five.

Sam Coley, Samteq founder and managing director and co-founder of TickX, said: “Our vision is for TickX to be the go to platform for event-goers worldwide.

“We’re already live across the UK and over the next year we have big ambitions to expand our event listings worldwide. We’re very proud to be part of growing the Argyll economy and the expanding tech scene in Scotland.”
