Aberdeen Sports Village in the city’s Linksfield Road, is hosting its health and fitness open day on Saturday, 17 September, to encourage local people to kick-start a new lifestyle.

The venue boasts a state-of-the-art gym, sports halls, indoor and outdoor athletics facilities, a range of exercise classes and indoor football pitches, as well as the Aquatics Centre, which includes an Olympic standard 50m pool and 25m diving pool.

This Saturday, the gym at the world-class facility will be free all day from 7.30am-7.30pm, there will be free swimming in the 25m pool at the Aquatics Centre during public swimming sessions and some free exercise classes, giving people a real flavour of the fantastic sports venue on their doorstep.

The free exercise classes include Body Balance from 11.30am-12.15pm, Body Combat from 12.30-13.15 and Jump Rope from 13.30-13.45, as well as Les Mills Born to Move classes for children during the morning. All classes must be booked in advance by calling 01224 438900.

“Whether someone is visiting the gym for the first time, someone is trying to get back into a fitness routine or someone is looking to try out a new sport, we have everything in one village and a team of experts to support and guide any level or age.”

During the open day there will also be personal trainers and nutritional experts on hand to provide advice and guidance on wellbeing and everyone will receive a bottle of water for their workout (subject to availability).
