ACCLAIMED author, Vivian French, will be leading a very special Bookbug session for children at Elgin library on Saturday (October 8) at 11am.

Places are free but must be booked by calling the library on 01343 562600.

Bookbug sessions are suitable for babies and toddlers and form part of the national Bookbug programme which encourages and helps to develop reading from the earliest possible age.

Saturday’s session will also see a relaunch of the Bookbug library challenge which rewards pre-school children for borrowing books on their own tickets.

Jane Sandell, senior library for young people’s services, said: “It is never too early to introduce children to books, stories and reading or to get them into the habit of using their library. We are always delighted to see children of any age in our libraries.”
