Media Release: Aesthetic medicine training academy opens

Aesthetic

A TRAINING academy for aesthetic medicine – believed to be a first for Scotland – has opened in Glasgow.

Set up by the team behind Clinetix, one of Scotland’s leading aesthetic clinics, The Aesthetic Training Academy – in Mitchell Lane, Glasgow – will offer training, in a clinical setting, for a range of aesthetic treatments including Botulinum toxin (botox), fillers, laser treatments as well as covering current legislation and complication management.

The team, led by Clinetix’s Dr Simon Ravichandran and Dr Emma Ravichandran, will provide training, which will comply with the recent and planned changes in legislation governing the aesthetic industry.

Commenting, Dr Simon Ravichandran says: “We are delighted to be opening the first aesthetic training academy in Scotland. We welcome the changes in legislation for the aesthetic industry, which will raise standards and outlaw dangerous practices by unqualified people.

“The academy will train a range of qualified professionals – including dentists, doctors, nurses, and appropriately-qualified beauty therapists – in the art and craft of aesthetic medicine.

“Given the growth of the aesthetic industry in Scotland, we expect a high demand.”
