Media Release: 100 young scientists and engineers share and compete

YOU are invited to send a reporter to photograph/interview a gathering of over 100 young engineers and scientists showcasing their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) projects where you will have the opportunity to photograph school STEM projects and interview school pupils as they take part in STEM challendes set by industry partners and compete for the titles of the Secondary Regional Club of the Year and the Primary Regional Club of the Year.

Both winners will receive a special YESC trophy and a cheque for £250.

More than 100 young people – from 17 schools in the Fife, Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross area – will get stuck in to science and engage in engineering at a celebration of engineering and science in Dundee this Friday (March 3 2017), organised by SCDI’s Young Engineers & Science Clubs Scotland (YESC).

Primary and Secondary Regional Club of the Year titles will be awarded at the event by event partner Shell UK Limited.

Local companies, teachers and schools will share their work with others, copmpete for prizes and take part in fun, hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) challenges.

YESC supports more thatn 200 schools in Fife, Dundee, Perth/Kinross and Angus with grants and resources to help nurture Scotland’s next generation of scientists and engineers.

Schools are supported locally by Shell UK Limited, as well as many private and public sector partners.
