THE Marketing Society Scotland has announced the nominations for one of the most coveted accolades in the industry – the Marketing Star of the Year award.

Star of the Year is one of the highlights from the Marketing Society’s Star Awards and celebrates the best in Scottish marketing talent. It recognises individuals who offer innovation, leadership, and drive, producing work that achieves results and makes a real difference, both within the industry and beyond.

This year’s Marketing Star of the Year nominees include:

• Paul Condron, Tennent Caledonian Breweries
• Anna Vaughn, Royal Bank of Scotland
• Ashley Nelson, VELUX
• Katherine Goodwin, Food Standards Scotland
• Mark Irwin, VisitScotland
• Pauline Aylesbury, The Scottish Government

Graeme Atha, director of The Marketing Society, said:v“There is an extremely strong shortlist this year, and I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to those nominated. I’m looking forward to finding out who this year’s winner is on June 8th.

“Scotland’s creative and marketing sector is booming, and it is important that individuals, companies, and campaigns are celebrated for the great work they do.”

Evidence shows that marketing in Scotland is regarded as hugely important to the success of a business.

Adds a spokesperson: A recent study conducted by SMG Insight and YouGov showed that 38 per cent of Scots regard marketing as an important driving factor in business success – well above sales (34 per cent), accounting (18 per cent), HR (13.5 per cent), and law (12 per cent).”

The other shortlists from the ‘Champion’ category were also announced, which amongst others, include Agency Star of the Year, Star Marketing Team of the Year, and Star Agency of the year.

A full shortlist can be found on the Marketing Society Star Awards website.

The award ceremony and winner announcements will be held in the SWG3 in Glasgow on June 8th.
